    Bichon frise is a small white dog with extremely white hair and small body. He is very intelligent, easily learns new tricks and manages well in urban areas and small spaces. Due to his small size, he is suitable for keeping in an apartment. They are also known for the fact that they rarely bark, which makes them attractive to many people, especially less experienced dog owners. They like to be in company, they are happiest when they are surrounded by people or other dogs, especially when they are taken for a walk in a pack. 

    ORIGIN

    Bichon was created by crossing Barbet with a standard poodle. It gained popularity primarily in Europe, especially among the Italian aristocracy. Later, it spread rapidly to Spain and France. Today’s modern Curly Bichon originated in France.

    APPEARANCE

    They belong to small breeds, they usually weigh between 5 and 10 kg and are up to 23-30 cm high. Their coat is extremely white, soft and almost odourless. Their eyes are almond-coloured and due to their small size, it is easy to mix them with a plush toy. 

    CHARACTER

    Bichon frise is a lively, cheerful and very loyal dog. It gets along well with people and children, but also with other animals. He is not at all aggressive, he is easy to train and he quickly learns new tricks. They do not like loneliness, they are happiest when they are surrounded by other people or animals. They do not need a large amount of physical activity, but daily walks are mandatory.

    HEALTH AND CARE

    The care of this breed is a bit more complicated, they need regular maintenance and trimming of their snow-white coat, which gets dirty quite easily. The coat is extremely soft to the touch, it is constantly growing, so it is necessary to pay special attention to the area around the eyes, as well as the paws.

    Regular or even frequent bathing is a must when it comes to this breed. They are generally very healthy as a breed, they are among the breeds with the least health problems. They are prone to gum problems, so it is necessary to pay special attention to their teeth and general hygiene.
