Marking territory – Cats tend to protect and mark their territory. The space they consider their most common is marked by urination. Also, rubbing your back and cheeks against objects in the house is one of the ways they mark their property. So sleeping and rubbing the body on the owner as well as leaving their scent on the owner is the way they want to appropriate and mark the owner as their territory.
Showing love – the fact is that cats are more independent animals compared to other pets, but they also need love and cuddling. As they spend most of the day alone, while the owner is at work, their desire for cuddling and napping on their owner can be interpreted as a desire to get attention from their owner. Also, this is the way your cat wants to show you that she loves you.
