CAT DOESN´T LIKE TO BE HELD – Cat owners have different experiences with their pets, some cats are cuddly and enjoy lounging with their owner, while others prefer to stay away. What most cats have in common is that they don’t like to be carried, and you’ve probably wondered why that is.
Cats are quite independent animals, they do not like their movement to be restricted in any way. Also, they like to decide for themselves how to communicate with their owner, so it is very difficult to force a cat to do something that it does not like.
For some older cats, holding it in their hands can cause joint pain, and even the fear of sudden movements and pain can be a reason to oppose taking it in their arms.
Also, one of the reasons may be insufficient socialization of the cat, as well as lack of trust in the owner, and an additional reason may be the fear of being released.
